Fresh baby Harper

I was honoured to have been invited by Kate and Mark to share in their birth experience of their fourth baby Harper by photographing the birth.

It was an amazing experience and to have witnessed such a perfectly executed birth was a real privilege. The photo slideshow is for Kate’s personal record but here is one shot of little Harper:

Vanessa and Neil

Let me preface this post by saying I don’t do weddings. I don’t want someone to stumble across this on the web and think I do weddings. Because I really don’t.

However, my dear friend Vanessa married her long-term partner Neil this year and her photographer pulled out at the last minute. So offering to do the photos was the least I could do.

Big congratulations to the happy couple and their beautiful family and thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day.

Emily

My dear friend Emily is back in hospital again, fighting lymphoma. On Monday I went to visit her, along with other friends from school, Donna and Rika. Being ever vigilant and proactive, Emily has found during her research about her condition that people of Asian origin are less likely to donate things like stem cells. Which sucks, because she might need donations from East-Asian people as part of her treatment. So we had a bit of fun shooting some photos for a campagin to raise awareness of this need. If you or any of your friends are of East-Asian origin, please consider donating blood or stem cells. It only takes a fraction of your time and you could help save a life.

Wander in the Wildflowers

I was honored to have been chosen to take photos for Christine and her lovely family. If you have seen my posts about wildflowers and signs in some of our local regional parks, you may recall that Christine is the one who has hired me to work on the signs. She wanted to bring her family into the park and incorporate the natural environment and flowers into the photos. Despite much rescheduling and ending up shooting after school, through light showers of rain, we finally achieved what we set out to do.

Liam was not meant to be in this shot, but I didn’t have the heart to photoshop him out as he just looks so cheeky!

Beautiful Family

I love going to Point Peron to shoot, the environment is inspiring and it always helps me appreciate how lucky we are to live where we do. This family session was no exception, we had a lovely time wandering around. I had no intention of climbing the stairs but they wanted some photos up there so up we went. My breath was taken away by both the climb and the view, in different ways of course. When we got to the top, a music video was being filmed on the best wall! I still love the shots we got and am very happy with how this session turned out. Thanks so much Fiona for inviting me to help create these memories and for raising such lovely young men.

Gorgeous Christian

Christian and his lovely parents welcomed me into their home to take some family photographs. As is typical of his age, Christian was very busy and interested in everything. I am glad to have captured his beautiful smile :)

Expectant Beauty

The latest of our lucky belly painting subjects is the beautiful Kate, whose family I have had the pleasure of photographing before. She is expecting baby number four and just radiates maternal beauty. Stay tuned for her maternity session with the rest of her family in the coming weeks.

Hall Family

On Father’s day these four young men got together for this family photo session that had been a gift for their mother for Christmas. We enjoyed the beautiful surrounds of Point Walter and got some lovely shots.
