Beautiful Ebony

I always love coming back to families who I have photographed before and seeing how they’ve grown. Last time I saw Shelley and Pete, they had just had their first baby and now two years later Zennon is such a big boy, with a new baby sister joining the family. Ebony had the enviable experience of being born in water at home, which seems like such a natural start to life. Here are a few previews from our session, I’m really preferring black and white over colour, I wonder if that is because of her name.

Chantilly Rose Product Shoot 1

I have two photo shoots of Chantilly Rose products lined up these holidays and have just processed a bunch of photos from the first one. You would think that doing child photography, it would be simple to just do a product shoot with children in it but there is so much to try and keep on top of, it’s quite challenging. Trying to juggle the needs of getting the best views of the clothing and accessories with keeping the girls’ moods up and getting them to pose is harder than it looks! Add to that two of my own girls as models and we have a whole new set of challenges.

Amazingly, through all the chaos we got some beautiful shots and I am very happy with how they turned out. Plus proud of my girls, especially Miss Aylish who I was a little hard on and she rose to it perfectly. Thank you Megan for the use of your home and beautiful little Sophie and thank you Maddy for being an amazing model.

If you like the look of these products, keep an eye on the Chantilly Rose website and Facebook page. If you would like to pre-order or receive an update when the products become available, please contact Julie from Chantilly Rose.

Little Boy Blue

I was having one of those days where everything is a struggle and only just made it to this session by putting one foot in front of the other. I am so glad I did, because it was exactly what I needed. Two perfect little models, one of them a baby boy so laid back that he was happy to just lay back and sleep. I got a chance to try out a couple of the more experimental hats that my mum has made lately, which was fun. Thank you so much Lisa for producing such beautiful children, they made my day :)

Kaden and Coby

After a successful newborn session in May, I was invited back to photograph this beautiful family with two lovely boys. I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to see how much Kaden has changed in such a short time and to get to know the gorgeous and sometimes cheeky Coby some more. Thank you so much Belinda and Scott for your patience and hospitality.

The Pinnacles

On the drive home to Perth, we decided to go take the coast road and stopped for a visit at the Pinnacles. We were just going to do a very brief stop and quick drive by but it cost $11 per car to get in so we decided to make the most of it. We visited the discovery centre then took the girls for a walk around the rocks. They loved them and it was a great break and of course a chance to take more photos!

Master David

Young David has never liked having his photo taken, but this session he was well prepared to resist co-operation. He’s old enough now to clearly understand what it means when I start dragging my gear in and apart from helping me set up, he didn’t want a bar of it. Completely refusing to approach the shooting area, even after his beloved Woody doll modeled first.

Eventually mummy had the bright idea of setting up a game on the backdrop and reluctantly agreed to sit in front of the light if we would play with him. It was a fun matching game and I snapped what I could between turns!

Looking at this gorgeous boy, it seems a shame he doesn’t like the camera! Perhaps he will grow out of it. In any case, I did manage to catch lots of expressions and am glad we persevered.

Love him!

My twirly girls

About 2 years ago I took some photos of the girls playing in puddles near this same wall;

and while we were there with our niece and her boyfriend, I grabbed some more of the girls as well. Wearing their very favorite dresses from Monsoons and Mangoes again! :)

Love :)

Megan: Part I

And here is part one of Megan’s maternity session, studio-style at home with the kids :)

Hello Strawberry :)

Proud big brother Davey

Looking forward to finally meeting Strawberry on Tuesday :) Love you guys xxxxx

Megan: Part II

This is the second part of my beautiful sister’s maternity session from late last year. We went down to Rockingham foreshore very early in the morning, which was hard seeing as we are not really morning people, and the sun was still too high! Luckily, the area has a number of (sub)urban pockets, which we used for a variety of backgrounds.

Part I coming soon!

Teen Family

It is not often that I have a session where every person is old enough to listen to me and do what I tell them. It made the whole session run more smoothly, from everyone helping clear the space and set up the backdrop, to getting all the shots done quickly and easily. Thank you guys :)
