Karnup Reserve

I’ve been working with my friend Christine to produce some interpretive signs for Karnup and Baldivis Reserves and they are finally completed and installed. I dropped by Karnup last week to grab some photos, the signs had been in for a couple of weeks.

Christine did all the text, I did the photos (except the birds) and we worked together on the design. It was a fun project and an area I am interested in pursuing, with more signs on the horizon as we speak.

We also made up 6 signs along the trail to the mya mya, one for each indigenous season. The drawings and text for these signs were provided by a local indigenous artist and I just arranged them on the page.

Even though it is late in the season, there are still some beautiful flowers around:

Photo Restoration

My husband’s family have a wonderful collection of old photos that I am in the process of scanning and restoring. Here is a sample from their wedding, 40 years ago.

Some of the photos are over 100 years old and quite damaged – I look forward to seeing whether I can restore those. As someone who chose a history major at university, this kind of thing is very exciting to me!

Coffee Table Book Samples

A pretty, pink, patterned theme. Colours are easily varied, just working in pink at the moment.

Texture Example

Here is an example of what you can do with the textures:

I used the soft moss and orange rock 5 textures.

There are tutorials all over the web on how to use textures but unfortunately I don’t have links to any handy (I recently downgraded my system from Vista to XP and lost all my bookmarks – no idea where Firefox stores them). If you’re interested in me writing some basic instructions out, please comment here.
